Import & Export Compliance in Mozambique

Cross-border trade in Mozambique lives or dies on paperwork. We register you as an importer, classify goods correctly and keep clearances moving.

Landed cost, not invoice cost

Duty, VAT, customs service fees, port charges, handling and inland transport frequently add 25% or more to invoice value. We model the true landed cost before you commit to a supplier.

Corridor choice

Maputo, Beira and Nacala each serve different hinterlands, with different congestion and cost profiles. Routing decisions materially change lead times into Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and the DRC.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a local importer of record?

You need a Mozambican registered entity with customs credentials. Where you do not yet have one, an appointed importer of record can bridge the gap.

Can we claim preferential duty rates?

Goods originating in SADC or under other trade arrangements may qualify with valid certificates of origin. Origin rules are strict and verified.
