DIRE Residence Permits in Mozambique
The DIRE is your proof of legal residence. We obtain it, renew it and keep the dates from catching you out.

Residence follows purpose
Residence is granted on the basis of employment, investment, family reunification or other qualifying grounds. The underlying basis determines documentation, duration and renewal conditions.
Carry it and renew it
The DIRE card should be carried and must be renewed before expiry. Lapses create fines and complicate future applications, including for your dependants.
Frequently asked questions
How long is a DIRE valid?
Validity depends on category and is commonly issued for one or two years, renewable while the qualifying basis persists.
Can my spouse work on a dependant DIRE?
Dependant status does not automatically confer work rights. A separate work authorisation is generally required.
