Where to dive

Ponta do Ouro for sharks and dolphins in the far south, Tofo for whale sharks and mantas, Bazaruto for reef and rays, and the northern reefs for the least-visited coral in the region.

Marlin, sailfish, kingfish, dorado and tuna are all in play depending on season and location, with charters running from Ponta do Ouro, Vilankulo, Inhambane and Pemba.

Broadly 24 to 29°C, warmest between December and March. A 3mm wetsuit suits most of the year.
